Kia ora! I’m Alex. I grew up in Aotearoa New Zealand and Sydney, but now live in North/East London, my birthplace. I love thinking about, growing, cooking, sharing, and composting beautiful food.

Years back, I finished a Design for Social Innovation degree which ended up focusing on food (or kai, as we call it in NZ) and kinship. I spent the following years working in youth development and then community housing. During this time I collaborated with diverse locals and organisations to facilitate rescue food distributions, seed-to-table workshop series, community-run compost hubs, and urban gardens across NZ’s capital city.

I truly believe food – along with music – is the ultimate connector and the key to (re)building just, hopeful futures together. I’m grateful to be working with the passionate folks at Granville Community Kitchen to feed our urban communities through supporting organic, regenerative UK growers.
